SFC2 was my favorite of the series but I only want to play the regular Empire at War version. I and many felt that the expansion while adding a number of great ideas ultimately dumbed down what was a vary tactical game into something more archedie. I ask if GOG will allow us to chose what version we can play with?
In prep for the release of this game i have some ISO copy's of SFC2 that I am still enjoying. They were surprisingly hard to come by and I really love how GOG is not only selling this game again but will really be preserving these games for future generations.
Don't suppose I could ask for a release window for this?

Orion Pirates is not an expansion. It is a standalone game that adds a LOT to EAW and actually had MUCH better mod support AND received higher reviews. EAW also had some stability issues that were corrected in Orion Pirates. It is NOT dumbed down at all; it follows the EXACT same rules as Starfleet Battles which Starfleet Command is based upon. You MAY be thinking of Starfleet Command III which was published by Activision and was VERY dumbed down.
If there IS a vote, then mine is for Orion Pirates. Trust me, it is THE Starfleet Command game.
Empires at War IS available legally elsewhere BTW for $5.00 ad I bought it before GOG released this first Starfleet Command. Playing EAW reminded me of why I bought Orion Pirates. In fact, since buying Starfleet Command Gold here on GOG, I haven't booted up EAW because it just does too much wrong.
Get Orion Pirates if GOG is going to release it then look for the OP Plus mod for a complete Starfleet Command experience that is not in ANY way dumbed down. But stay away from Starfleet Command III.

So far, I'm only finding most of these old gems being sold in their original boxed media from sellers on Amazon and EBay.
Since GOG has got a few of these old Star Trek games into their catalog, and availability for most of the other ones (there appear to be a dozen or more!) is limited, it seems this is a great area for GOG to expand their offerings:
Birthplace
Armada
SFC 2, through Infnity (and beyond)
All the expansions . . .
, Etc.
